V8 engines are not in trend currently as manufacturers are trying to maximize fuel economy by introducing more SUVs with 6-cylinder engines, superchargers, and even turbochargers. But there are still some SUV’s available in the market where manufacturers have kept the tradition of the V8 engine alive and kicking. Anyone looking to get versatile power out or high-end performance out of their SUV’s, these beasts that come with the traditional V8 engines are a great option. Let’s take a quick look at some of the V8 SUV’s:

  • GMC Yukon Denali: This an upscale version SUV that features an exclusive 6.2-litre V8 engine that provides a super cool 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission then sends this output either the rear or all four wheel drive. It has a capacity of seating eight people and is also available in two wheelbases.
  • Toyota Land Cruiser: This formidable SUV can also be called a ‘stealth luxury’ vehicle. You can find this V8 SUV sitting at the apex of the automaker’s lineup. This SUV is, in fact, Toyota’s most expensive vehicle, but it comes equipped with premium features as well as off-road technologies. A 5.7-litre V8 engine is tuned to provide 381 horsepower, and 401 lb-ft of torque for this seven seater and the 8-speed transmission comes as a standard.
  • BMW X5 Xdrive50i: This super cool SUV features a 4.4-litre V8 engine, which boasts 445 horsepower and 480 lb-ft torque. It is surprisingly quick and can sprint up to 60 mph in a mere 4.9 seconds, with the assistance of the standard all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
  • Porsche Cayenne Turbo S: This V8 SUV makes use of a pair of turbochargers to extract the most juice out of its 4.7-litre V8 engine which provides an amazing 550 horsepower and 516 lb-ft torque. It also comes with an active suspension system and a torque-vectoring rear differential. An 8-speed automatic transmission handles the gears on all versions of the Cayenne.
